David Bowie is happening now

Today a live cinema event based on V&A’s David Bowie is exhibition will be broadcast to more than 200 cinema screens around the country. Directed by BAFTA winner Hamish Hamilton, who directed the TV coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics, the event, which starts at 19:00 will take audiences into this hugely popular exhibition. It will be introduced by the exhibition curators Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh and will feature special guests offering insights into objects from the exhibition.

We have been told that our lightbox Everyone Born in the UK 1949 will feature in the broadcast. After tonight’s screening the exhibition will be dismantled and moved to Toronto for September before traveling to Sao Paulo in January.
