Devoted & Disgruntled 11

Are you Devoted to making and watching theatre type activities but often a bit Disgruntled that things could work better in this field? Well, if so then the ideal place for you to be between 9th and 11th January next year is The REP in Birmingham where the 11th Edition of the Devoted and Disgruntled Open Space event takes place.

Open Space events allow everyone in attendance to address head-on the issues that most concern them. The West Midlands theatre community have first hand experience of Open Space gatherings and can point to concrete examples of how positive actions can arise from them. Devoted and Disgruntled is the most dynamic and important annual gathering of the theatre/performance community; it is a wonderful forum for debate, a valuable crucible for making connections and powerful motor for change.

Thus far Devoted and Disgruntled has always been held in London and it is a great leap of faith that the D&D team had decided to bring it up to Birmingham. This move is a direct consequence of a broad disgruntlement that London holds an undue sway on the cultural life of this country. Now it is up to those of us who live outside London to repay this faith and rock up on 9th & 11th January.
In the words of Improbable, the organisers:

Whether you’ve been before or not, come to D&D because you are in control of your future. Don’t underestimate what you can make happen at this event. Open Space means that you can work on whatever you want to work on in whatever way you want to work, with people who want to be there working on it with you. It’s your event and you can shape what it is. Shape the future that you want to live in. Be in Birmingham!

You can book your tickets at the Devoted and Disgruntled web page where you can also read more about the event.
