Job Vacancy:
Production, Front of House & Performance Volunteers Required
Stan's Cafe is an innovative, cutting edge theatre company, based in Birmingham,
who have a strong international reputation for creating work that consistently
taps the popular imagination. We tour regularly across the UK and abroad and
are now bringing our major hit show 'Of All The People In All The World' back
to Birmingham in its largest form from 12 September - 5 October.
We are looking for a number of volunteers to join the Stan's Cafe team in staging these exciting performances:
Production Assistant
- To work during the rehearsal and performance period, tasks to include:
- Assisting the Production Manager, in day-to-day preparation for performances, including buying costumes and props.
- Supporting the cast in preparing for and during the performance.
- Working backstage and with front of house staff during the performance.
Front of House Assistant
- To assist audiences during performances. Desirable work experience would include:
- Managing audiences during performances.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety relating to audience management.
- Will need to display a confident and proactive approach when assisting audiences.
- Ability to interact with a wide range of audiences, including children.
- Knowledge/experience of Fire Marshall procedure would be an advantage.
Local Performer
- To perform during rehearsal and performance periods including:
- Researching and developing the themes of the show.
- Working as part of a performance team with a group of experienced performers in this performance installation.
- Interacting with members of the audience, responding to their questions and feedback.
- Collecting evaluation data, as appropriate.
It would be useful for the Production Assistant to have their own vehicle, but not essential.
Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and appropriate subsistence will be provided.
