Public Executions in England during the reign of Henry VIII: 80,000

Frankley Community High School Year 9's performed 'The Rice Show' in their school theatre on Friday. Unprompted a student chose to float the statistic 'Women who are murdered by their partners each week in the UK: 2' alongside 'The Population of London'. With an audience of parents wandering past this felt uneasy so we relocated it next to this 'Henry VIII' one, which somehow gave it an additional and possibly lighter twist.
