People Killed In The UK As A Result Of Trying To Shake Free Crisp Packets From Vending Machines, Since 1978: 37

I came across this whilst researching the show in Norwich. It seems so absurd and so random. Why since 1978? Were there particular developments in vending machine technology? And have these casualties had any impact on subsequent designs for the patented 'crisp release mechanism'. Beware, readers of this!
