The Library of Birmingham
15th - 19th April 2016

A fourth presentation of Of All The People In All The World in our home city and great to be showing it in the iconic Library Of Birmingham. The show was staged as part of the city's Year of Arts and Young People 2016. Birmingham is well known as being a youthful city with 45.7% of its residents aged under 30, compared with 36.8% for England as whole. A quarter of the population is aged under eighteen. The demography of the city, therefore, became one of the show's main themes with a focus on its diverse ethnicity and on the range of activities young people engage in across the area. These included the 3500 children who receive music lessons from the Music Service each week, young people involved in young writers' groups, youth theatres, dance classes and sporting activities. As always the show also included national and international stories up against these more locally specific ones including statistics related to the ongoing conflict in Syria and the growing refugee crisis.
