As part of the JUST festival on

Burton at Bideford
July - September
Monday - Saturday 10:00 - 16:00
Sunday 11:00 - 16:00

Commissioned and programmed as part of the Just Festival and presented at Cornerstone Centre St. John's Church, this was referred to by the BBC as "the only live show in Edinburgh".

With the COVID 19 pandemic leading to theatre performances being banned in Scotland, both the Edinburgh Festival and the Fringe were forced to relocate online in 2020. The Just Festival, which focuses on social justice and human rights issues, took a similar decision but were keen to have one live physical event to engage local residents and the few bold tourists who had ventured to the Sottish capital. We were all happy that we could present the show whilst complying with all necessary safety regulations and so the show went on, with all the new paraphernalia and etiquette we have become familiar with.

The Cornerstone Centre, at the end of Princes Street in the castle's shadow was a beautiful setting for a small version of the show tightly focussed on the festival's themes. Our hosts at the festival and their welcoming team of volunteers created a safe and relaxed atmosphere. We had lots of visitors, who were engaged and appreciative and although conversations were not as free and easy as they were in pre-pandemic times it was wonderful to be out and about presenting a show in the 'real world'.
