Worcester Cathedral
12 - 15 October, 2005
Our second cathedral performance. Worchester Cathedral is rather more spectacular than Birmingham's effort and the show looked good in the Chapel behind the high alter. The contemplative setting of religious buildings seems to work well with the show. It is rewarding to perform to those for whom the show is an exciting surprise and reactions were really positive from both visitors and cathedral staff alike.
Moral difficulties selling our catalogues within church meant we intermittently had to whisk people out of a side door to do our trade, which give it an illicit edge. Complications with people's availability meant the staffing for this show was inconsistent, but introducing new people to the show was useful.
It would be fantastic to return to a spectacular cathedral with a larger version of is show. We would place it in the central aisle, as in Birmingham, and be there long enough to briefly make it part of the church's life.
