Space Station
For two days in July 2002 a new station appeared on the Metro Line in West Bromwich.
On the station, Earth North Central, three astronauts waited for a connection to take them off the planet to complete their onward journey to Mars. After waiting on the platform for two days the travellers were at last picked up by the space tram and left West Bromwich with a triumphant farewell speech ringing in their ears.
If you spotted the waiting astronauts as you passed by on your journey, or if you have read this and are interested in their adventure, you can send them a message, or ask them a question about life in space. As I write they are still travelling and I know they would be very pleased to read some words from home.

Space Station was commissioned by Jubilee Arts as part of the Platforms project on the Metro Line through Sandwell.
